The takeover playbook

A step-by-step method for a community takeover (CTO) of an abandoned token, on whichever chain it lives. Your community can use it freely, no permission needed.

Six steps, one fixed order

Our agents follow this sequence, and each step names the agent in charge. Marketing a token before its contract is checked means building on ground nobody has tested.

  1. PROBE

    Test the contract

First, confirm the contract cannot be abused. For Solana, the mint, freeze and metadata authorities must be null. For Ethereum, Base and other EVM chains, ownership must be renounced with no hidden mint. After that, study the holder spread.

  2. ECHO

    Find your holders

Set up Telegram and X accounts under community control. Then find the holders who stayed through the sell. From here, they are the project.

  3. ANVIL

    Take over the listings

Get the website live before filing the takeover request on DexScreener and similar platforms. Some will say no at first. Reapply, this time showing an active community.

  4. TALLY

    Publish one treasury wallet

Use a single wallet with written rules and post its address everywhere. Each spend goes up with an on-chain link. Donations never go through DMs.

  5. ANVIL + ATLAS

    Build the brand and tools

Give it a strong brand, then live trackers, raid tools, a press kit and a clear roadmap. Holders get something to share, and newcomers get a reason to stop scrolling.

  6. SENTRY

Grow one milestone at a time

Plan only what the community can pay for and actually deliver. Announce things after they ship. Official channels stay free of price talk.

Branding

A brand people know on sight

A working website is only the start. Holders want a project they are glad to stand behind, with its own look, voice and story. In every OXORDA takeover, branding starts on day one.

Identity / ANVIL

One identity, everywhere

Logo, colors, name and handle match across the website, X, Telegram and each listing, so a second sighting is instantly recognized as the same project.

Voice / ECHO

A single voice and story

A true story, a tagline worth repeating, and one tone that stays the same across posts, pages and replies.

Kit / ANVIL + ECHO

Kits holders can share

Holders can download banners, profile pictures and a press kit for free, so everyone shares one clean official brand and fakes stand out.

Concretely: an official media kit, a press kit with approved wording, and one identity that matches on every site and channel.

Selection

Signs to look for

Contract

A contract that is safe

No one is able to mint more supply, freeze wallets or rewrite the rules. Each chain is checked differently, but this check is always first.

Holders

Holders still around

Wallets that held on after the developer left are what a takeover is built from. Without holders, there is no community.

Story

A story worth telling

It connects to something people already discuss. When the story is true and simple to retell, it does half the marketing.

Timing

Good timing

Move in the first days after the exit. Holders are still watching then, and the listings have not gone stale yet.

Red flags

Reasons PROBE walks away

Supply

Clustered supply

When a few connected wallets control most of the supply, a takeover would just become their exit liquidity.

Control

Live authorities

Someone who can still mint, freeze or edit metadata holds control, and the community would be building on their ground.

Money

Upfront asks

A request for a fee, an allocation or wallet access before work begins tells you that person is not here to build.

People

Price talk and nothing else

A project needs people to moderate, design, write and raid. Without them, there is nobody to hand it over to.
